Chris' Whole Wheat Pancakes

Chris' Whole Wheat Pancakes
1 cup of whole wheat flour (or whole wheat pastry flour)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk (or we have used water when out of milk)
Mix dry ingredients and then wet ingredients and combine in a bowl. Stir well or use electric mixer until everything is well combined. Pour the batter into a hot skillet and let cook on one side until bubbles pop up on the surface, flip it over and let the other side cook through. Serve with pure maple syrup and butter.
*Note - We often double this recipe and have some leftover to freeze individually. Then, when we want a pancake but don't want to cook them, we just unwrap one and pop it into the toaster. Very easy!

Can't wait to try this! I'm a healthy eating/healthy cooking newbie, but this looks like something I could do. I'm so excited to start bringing whole wheat into the house. :-)

Thanks for the recipe! I tried it this morning, and they came out great! After I tried a few regular pancakes, I even tried adding a bit of strawberry yogurt to the batter and those were yummy too. :-)

For the frozen ones to pop in the toaster...do you cook them first?!? lol.

Yep you cook them first, let them cool, wrap them up individually and freeze. Then when you want one just take it out of the freezer and put it right into the toaster.
