I sort of based this one on a recipe we had before called "Country Ham and Macaroni Casserole" except I kept it all on the stove top this time and skipped the topping. I also added peas to the dish... so I suppose maybe I need to write this one down since I changed it so much. I just got the idea to add everything to the boiling water. Basically what I did was take 16oz of macaroni and boil it. When it was almost done I added 1/2 cup chopped onions, 1.5 cups of chopped ham, and 6oz of frozen peas to the water. When it was all warm and done I drained it and returned it to the pot. Then I added 8oz of sour cream and 8oz of sharp cheddar cheese. I sprinkled a little garlic powder and a little salt in and that was that. It was really yummy, we all liked it, and it was so easy! So, here it is in proper recipe form:
Easy Stovetop Ham, Cheddar, Mac & Peas
16oz macaroni, uncooked
8oz sour cream
8oz shredded mild cheddar cheese
6oz frozen peas
1 1/2 cups of chopped cooked ham
1/2 cup diced onion
pinch of garlic powder
pinch of salt
Boil macaroni in large pot until it is almost al dente. Then add in the ham chunks, frozen peas, and onion and let it boil until the pasta is done and everything else is warmed through. Drain and return everything to the pot. Add in the cheese, sour cream, salt, and garlic powder and mix together. That's it! Enjoy.

Culinary brilliance! Peas are so undermentioned in cooking in general and I love those tasty little green balls of goodness. Then to add ham as well, mixed with cheddar cheese ... YES please!
